Once we were done sunning like lizards at Barton Springs, we hopped on our bikes and rode down the road to Chuy's, a local tex-mex restaurant. We were all parched to say the least and downed about 4 glasses of water each within the first 10 minutes. We also enjoyed some beer and chips, guacamole (which was awesome), queso, and salsa. We turned our bikes in and headed home to shower and get ready for the bat bridge!

What's the bat bridge you ask? Well lemme' to tell ya, it's real cool! Every night at sunset 1.5 MILLLION bats leave from underneath the Congress Street bridge to go eat their dinner...or breakfast? Whatever meal it is, it is freaking crazy to see all those bats leaving at once. We got to the bridge around 7:15 because a local told us they've been leaving around 7:30-7:45 lately, but those sassy little bats didn't leave until almost 8:15 this night. It was definitely worth the wait, and we obviously passed the time by taking a bunch of pictures with the city in the background.

After the bat bridge, we went and got some dinner at a pizza place called Rounders that was highly recommended by the Yelp app...again Yelp did not disappoint! In fact, just reading some of the reviews of this place made it pretty awesome. One lady started her review by saying "Rounders, you charming little snake you" and ended it by saying "the garlic knots are worth your first born son. This place saved my marriage." I don't know bout all that, but it
was a charming little snake for sure.
They had a fun leg wall that Meredith insisted we get a picture in front of...again, not touristy AT ALL. We had some of the "first born son" worthy garlic knots, and I must say, I don't have any sons yet, but I'd give em' up pretty quick for those things. The pizza and beer were great too.
I'd like to say we went out on the town after this and partied it up, but lets be honest, we had been up since 5:30 and had pretty much been outside all day, so we went weak-sauce style and went home to go to bed.
All-in-all we loved Austin! It was the type of place where we could all see ourselves living and had a lot of fun outdoorsy activities. "Keep Austin Weird" is the slogan...and we hope they do keep it weird, because it's awesome! Here are some more pics:
